Finally, the Land Rover Defender is back

finally land rover is back

The iconic Land Rover Defender is returning to Canada since the 1990s, the last time the Land Rover Defender was launched.

The new Land Rover Defender will be released in the late 2019 as a 2020 model. This is a dream come true for Land Rover enthusiasts as the Land Rover Defender is a highly anticipated Land Rover SUV that many fans are waiting for.

The 2020 Land Rover is built for extreme climate conditions and any terrains. "Engineers will subject to rigorous test extremes to make sure the new Defender is the most capable Land Rover vehicle ever, operating in temperatures from -40F to +120F while driving the vehicles on and off road at altitudes of more than 13,000 feet above sea level," Jaguar Land Rover says in a statement.

More, Land Rover has also strapped the Defender to a machine that shakes the Defender for 24 hours a day and seven days a week for two months continuously to simulate the condition of the vehicle after 10 years of rigorous conditions. The 2020 Land Rover Defender is designed to be durable, robust, and unbeatable.

The new Land Rover Defender will come in three wheelbases: 90, 110, and 130. Each wheelbase is available with six different powertrains.

More, the 2020 Land Rover Defender will offer two different suspension types: standard coils, and an optional air suspension. According to Andy Deeks, Land Rover's product engineering team leader, "the air system actively monitors temperature in the dampers and protects the vehicle by changing the parameters of the suspension as you're driving. But the coil car is still the most capable car in its class."

There are also several changes to the Land Rover Defender's platform to make the luxury SUV more conditioned for off-roading compared to other Land Rover models. "In our terminology 4B means it's above any other production car, but below full military vehicle specification. The geometry and hardpoints are the same, but suspension members, bushes, front ball joints, and steering are all more durable and robust," according to Andy Deeks. For wheels options, the 18-inch units come standard, but 22-inch units are available with either all-terrain or mud-terrain tires.
